CONTRACT & POLICIES

Please know that the utmost attention will be provided to your pet while in the care of Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting. I will treat your pets as I treat my own…with positive, loving care and much attention to safety, health and fun. The contract stipulations below describe my responsibilities and yours.

    • All pets must be current on their vaccinations, (especially their rabies vaccine) and will have their rabies tags securely affixed to their collar.
    • The client will fully describe to Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting any previous displays of aggression of ANY type by their pet(s). This includes aggression toward other animals or humans.
    • The client authorizes Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting to walk/exercise their pet(s) in designated locations and public areas and to enter their home to care for their pet(s).
    • The client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting from any and all liability resulting from injuries inflicted by their pet(s) on third parties; any injuries suffered by their pet(s) that are not a result of the pet sitter’s negligence; and destructive behavior in the client’s home such as soiling or chewing.
    • Client agrees that if their pet injures the pet sitter or a third party, the client will be responsible for all ensuing expenses including, but not limited to, medical bills or co-pays, replacement of destroyed items, etc.
    • Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting agrees to provide the services stated in this contract in a reliable, caring and trustworthy manner. In consideration of these services and as an express condition thereof, the client expressly waives and relinquishes any and all claims against Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting except those arising from negligence or willful misconduct on the part of the pet sitter.
    • Client must supply appropriate cleaning products for the pet sitter to use in case of indoor soiling by pets left loose in their home.
    • Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting will make every effort possible to see to your pet’s safety and care in the event of disaster, weather related events or crisis but cannot make an absolute guarantee under these types of circumstances.
    • Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting is not responsible for damage to the home beyond their control such as, but not limited to leaks, electrical problems or acts of nature. In such situations, the pet sitter will attempt to contact the client and/or designated emergency contact prior to making any subjective decision to resolve any such issues. All repairs and related fees will be paid by the client or fully reimbursed to Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting immediately upon the client’s return home.
    • Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting is not liable for any loss or damage in the event a burglary or other crime that may occur while under contract. Client agrees to secure home prior to leaving the premises and the pet sitter will secure the home at the end of each visit. While client’s keys are in the possession of the pet sitter, they will be properly secured in a locked box.
    • Client is responsible for pet-proofing their house, yard, security fences and gates and/or latches.
    • Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting will not be responsible for the safety of any pets or liable for the death, injury, disappearance, or legal consequences of any pet with unsupervised access to the outdoors at the client’s request.
    • Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting is authorized to seek any emergency veterinarian assistance needed during visits, at the cost to the client, should the need arise. Pet sitter will first attempt to contact the client (if the situation allows) to take the pet to the veterinary clinic of their choosing.
    • Client will provide Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting with the name, location and contact information of their veterinarian and the nearest emergency clinic.
    • Client will make prior payment arrangements (a credit card number on file or reserve funds on their account) that can be used in urgent and emergent circumstances with their regular vet and an emergency vet prior to lengthy pet care bookings.
    • Client is responsible for supplying the necessary equipment/supplies needed for care of their pet(s) including, but not limited to, a properly fitted harness or collar, firmly affixed vaccination tags, leashes, pooper-scoopers, cat litter, litter boxes, cleaning supplies, medicines and pet food.
    • Client authorizes any purchases necessary for the satisfactory performance of the pet sitter’s duties. Client agrees to be responsible for the payment of such items, as well as service fees for obtaining items and will immediately reimburse Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting for all such necessary purchases.
    • At the time service is booked, client will notify Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting of everyone who has been granted access to their home during the service period and when access will take place. The pet sitter accepts no responsibility for the security of the premises or loss if other individuals have access to the client’s home.
    • Client must have legal rights to place a pet in the care of Flyin’ Fur Pet sitting or veterinary clinics. The pet sitter cannot service “visiting pets” that are not legally owned by the contracted client without a separate contract signed by each legal owner and payment for services rendered by each legal owner made in advance of the dates of service.
    • The terms of this contract apply to all of the pets legally owned by the client, including any and all new pets that the client obtains on or after the date this document is signed, at any and all locations the client designates for service. Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting requires a meet and greet with any new pets that the client adds to their home.
    • Client understands this contract and takes full responsibility for prompt payment of fees for contracted services. A finance charge of 10% per month will be added to unpaid balances after 30 days. A fee of $50 will be charged on all returned checks.
    • Clients with a history of late payments will be required to pay for all contracted services at the time of booking and prior to any services being rendered. In the event it becomes necessary to initiate collection proceedings on the account, client agrees to be responsible for all attorneys’ fees, court costs and any other related costs to Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting during the collection process.
    • Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting reserves the right to terminate this contract at any time.
    • If Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting, in its sole discretion, determines that the client’s pet poses a danger to the health or safety of the pet sitter or the general public or if health/safety concerns prohibit the pet sitter from caring for the pet, the client authorizes the pet to be placed in a boarding facility or their veterinarian’s clinic by Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting with all resulting charges to be charged to the client.
    • Client authorizes this signed contract to be valid approval for future services provided by Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting. Such additional services can be accepted via telephone reservations for service and the pet sitter may enter premises without additional signed contracts or written authorization.

PRE-BOOKING

    • All pets must be current on their vaccinations (especially rabies) prior to services being rendered.
    • A meet and greet with the client and their pet(s) at the client’s home is required before services can be booked.
    • Dogs scheduled for walks will have their current rabies tags and I.D. tags (with owner info) securely attached to their collars.
    • Client will describe any and all incidents of aggression or other behavioral issues to the pet sitter.
    • Client will notify the pet sitter of all medical conditions prior to services being rendered.
    • Client will provide pet sitter with at least one, reliable emergency contact (family member, friend, neighbor) who can care for their pet in the event of an emergency that could prevent the pet sitter from providing care (including, but not limited to: accidents, illness, road closures, weather).
    • Client is responsible for pet-proofing their house, yard, security fences, gates and/or latches.
    • Client will provide pet sitter with the name, location and contact information for their pet’s regular vet and an emergency vet.
    • Prior to lengthy pet care bookings, client will make prior payment arrangements (via credit card or reserve funds) with their regular vet in the event that their pet needs medical treatment in their absence.
    • Client will sign a “Pet Power of Attorney” authorizing the pet sitter to take their pet to any licensed vet and agrees that all veterinary charges will be paid by the client. Also, client will contact their veterinarian and ask that a note and/or copy of the signed Pet Power of Attorney document is included in their pet’s file stating that permission has been granted to Lelia Beakey of Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting to bring their pets in for care.
    • Client must have legal rights to place a pet in the care of Flyin’ Fur Pet sitting or veterinary clinics. The pet sitter cannot service “visiting pets” that are not legally owned by the contracted client without a separate contract signed by each legal owner and payment for services rendered by each legal owner made in advance of the dates of service.
    • Clients living beyond the service area of Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting will incur a $5 per visit fuel fee.
    • Client understands there is a $10 key pick-up and a $10 key drop-off fee if a key is not provided to the pet sitter during the initial meet and greet.

PAYMENT

    • Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting accepts payment in the form of cash or checks only. Prompt payment of fees is expected.
    • A finance charge of 10% will be added to unpaid balances after 30 days.
    • There is a $50 fee for each returned check.
    • Clients with a history of late payment will be required to pay all fees in advance prior to any services being rendered.
    • In the event it becomes necessary to initiate legal proceedings on a client’s account, client agrees to be responsible for all attorneys’ fees, court costs and any other related costs to Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting during the collection process.

Payment in full is required at time of booking to hold your reservation. 48 hours advance notice of cancellation is required. Credit issued (for pet sitting visit at a later date). Credit must be used within 6 months and is based on scheduling and availability.

No refunds will be issued to clients returning early from extended trips as this time was reserved for your pets and others could not be booked in your time slot.

Sporadic/Occasional Visits

(Just a few visits per year)

Payment in full is required at time of booking. 48 hours advance notice of cancellation is required. Credit issued (for pet sitting visit at a later time). Credit must be used within 6 months and is based on scheduling and availability
Last Minute Bookings

(Any type)

Payment in full is required at the time of booking. Payment is forfeited if visit is cancelled. No refunds or credits issued.
Medical/Behavioral Visits

(By-the-Hour Visits)

Payment in full is required at the time of booking. 48 hours advance notice of cancellation is required.

NOTE:  If you arrive home later than your scheduled time, there is an additional $1 per minute late fee.

No refunds or credits issued.

 

HOME ENTRY

    • For visits during times when the client is not home, client will provide pet sitter with a key, garage door opener or alarm code in order to gain entry to their home.
    • If client lives in a gated community, an electronic gate opener or entry code will be provided to the pet sitter so it does not become necessary to wait in line to check in at a guard booth prior to entry.
    • Client will provide pet sitter with a list of all others who have access to their home and when exactly they will be present, during any booked pet care or dog walking visits.
    • If pet sitter is responsible for responding to home alarm systems and an unscheduled visit is required to check the home, an additional charge of $50 will be applied to your invoice. Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting prefers you list a neighbor or family member as your emergency contact with your alarm company.
    • In the event of a key or lock malfunction that prevents the pet sitter from entering the client’s home, the pet sitter will make a reasonable attempt to contact the client and/or their emergency contacts and advise them of any such occurrence. If the situation allows, the homeowner will contact a locksmith to make arrangements to repair/replace the lock. If client cannot be reached, the pet sitter will contact a locksmith and all locksmith fees paid by the pet sitter will be reimbursed immediately upon the client’s return home. If pet sitter determines that the client’s pet poses a danger to the health or safety of the pet sitter or the general public OR if health concerns prohibit the pet sitter from caring for the pet, the pet sitter will make a reasonable attempt to contact the client and/or their emergency contact to apprise them of the situation. If attempts to contact the client and their emergency contacts fail, the pet sitter will place the pet in a boarding facility or at the client’s vet with all resulting charges to be paid by the client.

PET ILLNESS/INJURY

    • If pet sitter determines that the client’s pet poses a danger to the health or safety of the pet sitter or the general public OR if health concerns prohibit the pet sitter from caring for the pet, the pet sitter will make a reasonable attempt to contact the client and/or their emergency contact to apprise them of the situation. If attempts to contact the client and their emergency contacts fail, the pet sitter will place the pet in a boarding facility or at the client’s vet with all resulting charges to be paid by the client.

FOOD & SUPPLIES

    • Client is responsible for supplying necessary equipment and supplies needed for the care of their pets, including but not limited to:
      • Pet Food
      • Medicines
      • Properly fitted harness or collar with current rabies vaccine tags and owner ID and contact information firmly affixed.
      • Leashes (Due to safety concerns, Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting will not use retractable leashes under any circumstances.)
      • Pooper scoopers and/or poop bags
      • Cat litter
      • Litter boxes
      • Appropriate cleaning supplies in case of indoor soiling
      • Any other items that their pets will need during their booked pet care appointments.
      • Client authorizes any purchases necessary for the satisfactory performance of the pet sitter’s duties and agrees to be responsible for the payment of such items, as well as service fees for obtaining items and will reimburse Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting immediately after necessary purchases are made.

PET SAFETY & WELLBEING

    • Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting will not be responsible for the safety, death, injury, disappearance or legal consequences of any pet with unsupervised access to the outdoors at the client’s request.
    • For the physical and mental wellbeing of dogs being left indoors for extended periods of time (e.g. vacations), Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting requires a minimum booking of 3 pet care visits per day.
    • Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting does not accept pet sitting assignments from clients who plan to crate their dogs for longer than 6 hours without a pet care visit.
    • Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting will not honor any client requests for care or treatment of pets that are deemed inhumane, neglectful or physically/psychologically harmful to the pet.
    • No clients’ dogs will be taken to off-leash dog parks since their safety cannot be guaranteed due to the unpredictability of other dogs at the park.
    • Flyin’ Fur Pet Sitting will not use retractable leashes to walk client’s dogs due to the danger they pose to dogs, handlers and the general public.
    • Pet owner is responsible for pet proofing their environment when their pets are left loose in their home. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring that any dangerous items are placed out of their pet’s reach, wires and electrical outlets are secured, poisonous plants are not accessible, human foods that can harm or kill pets are stored appropriately, etc.
